Stearic Acid is a traditional candle additive. It makes the colors in a  candle look brighter and vibrant without losing the translucent look of the wax! Stearic acid increases the hardness of candles, improves the finished look and also helps the wax shrink as it cools for easy release of candles from metal molds.

Translucent Crystals raise the melt point of wax and is only added to wax that is poured into the outer shell when embedding objects in the outside wall. This is added to raise the melting temperature of the wax that is holding the embeds in the outer shell to keep them from burning. And it's also used to maintain the transparency look of paraffin so the embeds show through. A few examples of things that we have seen put in candles are silk flowers, coffee beans, peppermint candies, cinnamon sticks, potpourri, marbles, etc. Works great in paraffin wax.
